Lois Crawford Anderson and her husband, William Anderson, served in the Presbyterian mission efforts in Africa for over 50 years in the countries of Egypt, Sudan, Uganda and Kenya. Lois had studied linguistics and spoke Arabic, Swahili, local Shilluk and Kikuyu languages and taught English and Bible courses to women. She also headed a nursery school. For a good portion of those years they were in residence at St. Paul's United Theological College.
