David Laury Adamson, 81; Beloved Patriarch, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 21, 2015. He rejoins his wife in the spirit world. Born on April 11th, 1934 in Murray, Utah to Arnold George and Estella Smith Adamson, David was the third of five children, growing up in Draper, Utah.

He graduated from Jordan High School in 1952, going on to graduate from Utah State University with degrees in Chemistry and Metallurgy. He worked at Kennecott Copper as a Research Scientist and Industrial Hygienist. He was very successful in his field holding many patents, and shared his great knowledge with everyone around him. He served a mission for the LDS church in Northern Germany and was a devout member of the LDS church, serving in many positions including Scoutmaster, High Priest group Leader, Stake High Counselor, Counselor in the Bishopric.

In June of 1964, he married Myrna Mae Ault in the Logan temple, and cared for her two young boys as his own. They went on to have two girls, Kimberly and Stacey Adamson.

David had a great knowledge and passion for the outdoors, often going backpacking, camping and fishing. Because of this knowledge and passion, he spent a great deal of time as a Scoutmaster. He inspired many young men to get their Eagle Scout, and many of his scouts went on to become great Scoutmasters as well.

David was an exceptionally kind man beloved by all. He spent his entire life in the service of others. He was always helping someone- giving people rides to appointments, helping with yard work, and sharing the produce he grew in his garden. He was known by some of the children in the neighborhood as the “Pumpkin Man” because he would always grow enough for everyone in the family and many neighborhood kids.

He is survived by his children; Bryan Adamson (Michelle), Gregory Adamson (Sandy), Kimberly Adamson, and Stacey Singleton (Ronald), his Grandchildren; Lyndsey (Howard), Nathan (Hayley), Jessica (Stephen), Corey (Diana), Amber (Brandon), Clinton (Shelley), Korbin (Emily), Kirstine, Laura, Kaylie, Amanda, Matthew and great-grand children; Karlie, Derek, Brayden, Ryder, Harper, Savannah, Maeli, Brynly, Tyler

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lola Marvin, wife Myrna Adamson, and Great Grandchild Abigail Johnson.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2015 at 11:00am at Cottonwood Stake Center, 1830 E. 6400 S. Salt Lake City.
