Carl Richard “Rich” Harrison, age 80, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation, Pinckneyville, IL. Rich was born on April 12, 1935 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Carl Baker and Carrie Amelia (Benedict) Harrison. On December 5, 1953, he married Dorothy Rust in Corinth, MS and she preceded him in death on October 12, 2015. Rich attended Roe’s Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and was a coal miner at Zeigler #2 Coal Mine, Coulterville, IL for over 25 years. He was a member of the UMWA, enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling and played fast pitch softball. Rich liked visiting with his buddies at Lollies in Sparta, IL on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Survivors include, a son, Richard “Richie” (Sherry) Harrison of DuQuoin, IL; a daughter, Sheri (Donald) Hubler of Coulterville, IL; one granddaughter, Maria (Joe) Hazel of Belleville, IL; two great-grandchildren, Michael Brown and Alex Chamness; one brother, Nelson (Judy) Harrison of Shelbyville, KY; one sister, Geneva (Ed) Mossa of Maryville, OH; and one brother-in-law, Don Kuhnert of Pinckneyville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy Marie Harrison and two sisters, Doris (Vernon) Edwards and Donna Kuhnert. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Roe’s Dale Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL.
