Lewis "Boss Hogg" Gardner, Jr., 71, of Hot Springs, Arkansas (formerly of Monticello, Arkansas), passed away on December 22, 2015 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs.

He was born on December 8, 1944 in Waycross, Georgia.

Lewis was an active member of Mountain Pine First Assembly of God Church and loved singing and playing his guitar. Most importantly, he was a child of the King.

He served in the U.S. Airforce from 1962 – 1965 and was stationed in Germany. He was the founder of Crackerbox Food Stores, Gardner Oil Company, and Screaming Eagle Transport.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Martin Gardner and Wanda McClain-Gardner.

He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Gardner; two sons, Charles Wayne Gardner (Annette) of Hot Springs and Lewis Ray Gardner (Lora) of Hot Springs; three grandsons: Joey Gardner of Hot Springs, Jordan Gardner of Hot Springs, and Dalton Gardner of Ft. Smith; two granddaughters, Jessica Kelliher (Jacob) of Russellville and Jennifer Gardner of Hot Springs; one great-granddaughter, Emma Gardner of Hot Springs; two brothers, Larry Gardner (Teddy) of Arkadelphia and Alan Lane Gardner (Jacqueline) of Warner Robins, GA; and many nephews, nieces, and close friends.

The funeral services will be held in Stephenson-Dearman Funeral Chapel in Monticello. The burial services will be held at Oakland Cemetery with full military honors.
