Louis Hunter “Hootie” Wilkins, 60, of 292 Lawson Road, Martinsville, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
He was born in Price, N.C., on May 29, 1946, to Sam Jackson Wilkins and Dora Lee Knott Wilkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ayers Wilkins; two brothers, William C. Wilkins and Andrew Wilkins; and two sisters, Betty Smith and Bessie Davis.
He had worked for Bassett-Walker Knitting and also as a farmer. He was a member of White’s Chapel Baptist Church
