John T. Barzano, age 79, of Erie passed away Wednesday December 23, 2015. He was born in Erie, April 17, 1936, a son of the late Aneillo and Maria (Annunziata) Barzano.

John was a graduate of Tech High School class of 1954. He proudly served as the Director of Public Works for the City of Erie for 12 years, retiring in 2001, prior to that he had been a salesman for Seagrams Distillers. He was a member of the Zukor Club and VFW Post 470 where he enjoyed going to meet his friends. John bowled in many Friday night social club leagues and was an avid Cleveland Browns and New York Yankees fan.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers; Samuel, Ralph, Michael, Joseph, Neil and Vincent Barzano and one sister; Mary Tomczak.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years Irene (Walters) Barzano, one daughter, Shelly Antolik, one son, John Barzano and his wife Diane; a grandson A.J. Antolik and his wife Emily, and a granddaughter Emily Elizabeth Antolik all of Erie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends are invited to call at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. Sunday from 2 until 8 p.m. and are invited to attend a service Monday at 11 a.m with Rev. Alex Amico officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Cemetery.
