Jedidah Davis, dau. of Joseph Davis and Mary Smith, bapt. May 30, 1762 at Falmouth, Mass., the date of birth not of record. As explained below, 1835 is the approximate year of her death.

On Sept. 14, 1786 of record at Falmouth, Mass., Jedidah of Falmouth m. Thomas Robinson, called of Chilmark, s. of Zephaniah Robinson by his 1st wife Anna Hatch. Thomas was b. circa 1760 at Naushon Island, northwest off the coast of Martha's Vineyard and legally attached to the Town of Chilmark, Mass. Thomas d. circa 1805 possibly at sea (see his memorial for further detail.)

On Apr. 16, 1795 "Jedida wife of Thomas Robinson" was propounded for communion membership of the Falmouth Congregational Church, and was so admitted Aug. 16, 1695. On the latter date were also baptized the then four children of the Robinson family: "Nathaniel, Thomas, Hervey & Rhoda, children of Thomas & Jedidah Robinson." Two additional children would follow and be presented for baptism. The six children of the family are summarized in their father's memorial.

Beginning with the Aug. 6, 1810 census of Falmouth, Mass., Jedidah is enumerated as the head of her household. In December 1811 oldest son Nathaniel m. Abigail Hatch and by the Aug. 7, 1820 census, Jedidah and son Nathaniel are enumerated one after the other at Falmouth. On June 6, 1824 the Falmouth Congregational Church recorded a list of the then present (i.e., living) members of the church, which includes "Jedida" Robinson. In the June 1, 1830 census of Falmouth, Jedidah (erroneously written as "Jedediah" Robinson), age 70-79, and eldest son Nathaniel, age 40-49, are again listed one after the other.

No separate 1840 census listing appears for Jedidah. Son Nathaniel never left Falmouth and in the June 1, 1840 census Nathaniel was enumerated as a Falmouth householder with 20 persons (9 males-11 females), which included 2 engaged in agriculture, 1 sailor, 1 blind person, and 1 person who was insane or idiotic at public charge. Either Nathaniel was operating a boarding house or possibly in charge of the town's poor farm. Eight of the males ranges in age from 40 to under 90 years, while ten of the females ranged from 30 to under 80 years.

Given the prior 1830 census, it would appear Jedidah died after the June 1830 but before the June 1840 census. No recorded death, probate record or extant gravestone exists.
