Julius P. "Pat" Balentine, 80, A-43 Coronado Trail, Fritch, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday in his home.

A retired switchboard repairman for Southwestern Bell Telephone, he was a native of Morse (Hansford County) and a Borger resident for 9 years.

He was a member of the Christian Church. Born in Morse on January 16, 1909 and worked for S.W. Bell Telephone Company for 35 years in Borger, Amarillo, Oklahoma City, Houston and Denver. He attended school in Spearman and married Rose Goodwin on Nov. 22, 1977. He was a member of the Telephone Workers Union of America and lived in Arkansas and Crockett before moving to Fritch, Harbour Bay in 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Balentine of the home; one stepson, Warren James of Springfield, Mo.; one daughter, Beverly Goyne of Katy; a sister, Myrtle Keith of Borger; five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lieb Cemetery in Morse with Richard Kasko, minister of the Gardner Street Church of Christ officiating.

Burial will be in Lieb Cemetery under the direction of Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Fritch.
