BUFFALO — Celebration of Life services for Leo Dwayne Riley, 61, of Buffalo, will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at Weerts Funeral Home, 3625 Jersey Ridge Road, Davenport. His family will greet friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo.
Dwayne passed peacefully to his eternal home at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, Dec. 22, 2015, following a courageous battle with Merkel cell carcinoma.
Dwayne was born Feb. 12, 1954, in Greene County, Mo., to the late Zack and Wilma (Halliburton) Riley. He spent his childhood in Missouri until 1966, when the family moved to Iowa. He graduated from Central High School in 1972. He was united in marriage to Sheila Lucas on July 14, 1973, in Davenport.
He had worked at Continental Cement (formerly Lafarge) for 42 years. Dwayne’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, history, attending car races, watching movies and TV, listening to music and having a cold one while spending time with his many family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sheila; four sons, Shane, Mike (Jinnie), Tim (Sarah) and Luke (Sarah); five grandchildren, Samantha, Sebastian, Bella, Elliot and Cormick; and sisters, Linda Loethen, Nancy Stout and Annabelle Kimes .
Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA), 825 Eastlake Ave. E., P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109-1023.
The family would like to thank the many relatives and friends for their visits and unconditional support, generosity and many acts of kindness over the past several months
