Frederick H. Meyer, 74, of 416 North St., Kiel died unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, December 12, 2006 at his home.

He was born August 23, 1932 in Milwaukee, son of the late Arthur & Elsie Kanske Meyer. Frederick was a 1950 graduate of Kiel High School. He proudly served his country in the US Army. On February 16, 1957 he married Joan Mayer at Ebenezer United of Church of Christ, Sheboygan. Frederick farmed the family homestead in the Town of Rhine until his retirement. Being the proud “papa”of five wonderful grandchildren he spent as much time as he could during his retirement enjoying and taking care of them. He was a lifelong member of Bethel United Church of Christ in the Town of Herman. Frederick was the owner of two vintage vehicles and enjoyed “tinkering” with them.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Joan of Kiel, one son, Frederick A.E. (Cindy) Meyer of rural Ada and his five grandchildren: Lenora, Maurisha, Alicia, Frederick & Arthur. He is further survived by brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law: Iris (Vernon) Kelling, Random Lake, Herman (Dorothy) Mayer, Sheboygan, Romelle (Wayne) Voigt, Windsor, WI, Larry (Sandra) Mayer Fredonia, Arnold Voigt, Fredonia, other relatives, friends and his faithful companion, Trixie He was preceded in death by two sisters-in-law, Carol Voigt & Shirley Schlichting and one brother-in-law, Dennis Mayer.

According to Frederick’s wishes private funeral services will be held at Bethel United Church of Christ, Town of Herman with Rev. Sara Morse officiating. Burial will take place in Bethel UCC Cemetery, Town of Herman. A memorial has been established in his name. Frederick’s family would like to thank Dr. Vytas Kerpe and staff at the St. Nicholas Dialysis Center and Dr. Marshall Matthews& staff, also Nancy at the Cancer Oncology Center for the wonderful care given to him.
