Barry Dale Carter, age 61, died Wednesday December 23, 2015 at Alive Hospice. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Brother Nathan Hale will officiate. Burial will be in Rocky Glade Cemetery.
Mr. Carter is survived by his wife Sherry Lynn Carter; one son, Barry Wayne Carter and his wife Shelley of Jackson, TN; two daughters, Andrea Carter Weaver and her husband Tommy of Murfreesboro, TN, and April Carter Gore and her husband Tony of Murfreesboro, TN; mother, Yvonne James Carter of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Ronnie Carter of Georgia, Douglas Carter of Florida, Jeffery Carter and his wife Michelle of Mt. Juliet, TN; sisters, Angie Carter Phay and her finace Luis Hernadez of Nashville, TN and Amy Carter Adams and her husband Robert of Murfreesboro, TN; eight grandcyhildren, Brannon, Dalton, Austin, Parker, Zachary, Dustin, Chandler, and Jaxsun Dale Carter; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Adams Carter, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson Carter, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur James and a granddaughter, Linsey Weaver.
Mr. Carter was a native of Rutherford County and was a member of the Baptist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Oakland High School and was a retired lineman with Murfreesboro Electric Department, and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Visitation will be Sunday and Monday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Family will serve as pallbearers.
