Richard J. Belanger, 78, of Sanford, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Southern Maine Health Care in Sanford. He was born in Wallagrass, Maine on December 14, 1938 to Yvon and Alice (Michaud) Belanger.

Richard was predeceased by his wife, Anita Pouliot Belanger in 1990.

Surviving are his loving partner, Georgia Guertin; four children, four step-children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 2nd at St. Thérèse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, located on North Avenue in Sanford. Interment will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Maine Children’s Cancer Program, 22 Bramhall Street, Portland, Maine 04102.

Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
