DIES AFTER A LONG ILLNESS
Lawrence Rice was Lifelong Resident of County
Lawrence Rice, 70, Manitowoc route 4, died last night following a lengthy illness.
A lifelong resident of Manitowoc County, he was born August 7, 1865. He worked for several years at Schuette Bros. store here in the 1890's. In 1892 he was married to Effie Cootway, who died in 1904. He farmed in this county for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Zingsheim, Manitowoc; a son, Hilary, Detroit and three brothers, Matt, Charles and Hugh, all of the Town of Manitowoc Rapids.
Funeral services will be completed later.

Rice Funeral To Be Held Friday Morning
Funeral services for Lawrence Rice, 70, Manitowoc route 4, who died Tuesday night, will be held Friday morning at 8:30 from the Pfeffer Funeral Home and at nine o'clock from the St. Joseph's Church at Silver Lake. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie at the funeral home until the time of the service.
