Sherry collected her angel wings on Dec. 20, 2015, when she passed away from complications of diabetic ketoacidosis.

Born March 9, 1964, in Biloxi, Miss., she had to face many obstacles, including dealing with diabetes, epilepsy, and other medical issues, but she tackled each difficulty with determination, stubbornness, and humor.

She graduated from Buena High School. She became a client of ARIES, where she met the love of her life, Rodney Nelson, whom she wed May 12, 1990. She enjoyed telling people how they were the first/only two clients who had met, gotten married, and bought a house.

Sherry will be remembered for her heart of gold, her perseverance, and her love of animals. Her laugh was her trademark, as was “the eye” she would give if someone upset her. Her strong faith in God and her Christian belief gave her the courage to make sure that her eyes, tissue, and organs would be donated so others could benefit after her passing. She loved to bake Christmas cookies for gifts.

She is survived by her husband, Rodney Nelson; father, Wesley James Graybill (Donna); brother, Wesley V. Graybill (Julie); nephews, Wesley D. and Derek Graybill; many aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends, including Bob Davis and Patricia Buchanan; her AIRES family; and her dogs, Hawk and Yogi.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Louise Sheibal Graybill and her grandparents.

Thanks go out to AIRES, her medical team, and all who cared for Sherry.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mustang Mountain Cowboy Church in Whetstone, Ariz.

Sherry is no longer here on the earth with us, but she will never be forgotten.
