Hazel Cleo McAlister, 82, daughter of John Oscar and Sadie Alvina Hill Hazlitt, was born Dec. 30, 1919, at Palestine, Texas. She died Dec. 18, 2002, at Houston House Nursing Center in Houston, Missouri, where she had been a resident for two years.
She married Burley McAlister Sept. 9, 1985. Mrs. McAlister loved caring for her home, cooking, gardening and being outdoors. She enjoyed yard sales and visiting friends. The McAlisters could be seen in the donut shop almost daily visiting with friends as long as her health permitted.
Surviving are her husband; son, Robert Michael "Rob" Minnella; stepson, James Burley McAlister; daughters, Janice Minnella, Cheryle Pedlar, and Judith Griffin; stepdaughter, Roberta Ruth Hart; and brother, William Henry "Bill" Hazlitt.
Services were Dec. 23 at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Ozark Cemetery.
