Oldest son of Andrew and Judith Westfall Crouch, grandson of John Crouch Sr., ( first settler in what is now Tucker County, WV, near Blackman Flats), and wife Mary, he was the first white child born in Randolph County, WV, he was married first to Mary Fornelson/Nelson, youngest daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Fornelson, married second to Elizabeth Whitman Ward.
He and Mary had 7 children:

Rebecca, married to John G. Currence
Isaac, married to Sarah Wamsley
Abraham, married to Catharine "Kitty" Crouch
