Born in Norton, Kansas, he was the son of Alonzo and Faye (Garrison) Ford. He married Betty Benson on Aug. 30, 1941 in Greely, Colorado. He joined the United States Army in 1941 and served during World War II from 1941 through 1945. During his service he received several medals, including three Bronze Stars, Combat Infantry Badge, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Efficiency Fidelity Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. After his discharge, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until 1946. A resident of Indianola, he died at the age of 81 at the McAlester hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo and Faye Ford; three brothers, Jasper Ford, James Ford and Max Ford and two sisters, Eva and Creta.
