Theodore William "Ted" Walker, 77, of Apollo, passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2015, at West Haven Manor, in Washington Township. He was born Oct. 16, 1938, in North Apollo, the son of the late Robert E. and W. Louise Weaver Walker. Before his retirement, he was employed at United States Steel in Vandergrift as a roll turner for more than 28 years. He also retired from the Pennsylvania State Police DLE where he was employed as a driving/license instructor. He is a Navy veteran. Ted is a member of the Church of God in North Apollo, a life member of the Apollo Hose Company No. 2, and the American Legion Post 631 in Kiski Township. He loved camping, trips to the beach and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy McMillen Walker; four children, Sam Walker and his wife, Valerie, of Sarver, Barb Medice (John Baker), of Thomasville, Ga., William "Bill" Walker and his wife, Kelly, of Avonmore, (Bell Township) and Patty Cloake, of North Apollo; eight grandchildren, Samuel Walker and Tanya, of Gilpin Township, Cassandra Walker, of Apollo, Jimmy Walker, of Blairsville, Nathan Medice, of Vandergrift, Alex Medice, of Lower Burrell, Rebecca Yenchick and Kevin, of Leechburg, Willy Walker, of Bell Township, and Eric Moran, of North Apollo; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth E. Walker and his wife, Judy, of Brick Church; and five foster daughters, Carol Butler, of Coral, Shawna Saxton and her husband, Chad, of Punxsutawney, Debi Carnahan and her husband, James, of Avonmore, Kristy McMunn, of Apollo, and Connie Travato, of Vandergrift. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Walker, in infancy, and a sister, Roberta Peace.

Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME LTD., 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. in the funeral Home. Pastor Bob Shallenberger will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
