Carla R. Ferguson, 55, of Frankfort, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2015, at St. Elizabeth East Hospital in Lafayette, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born August 14, 1960, in Frankfort, to Harold Gene and Ethel Stringer Baker; her mother survives. Carla was formerly married to James A. Ferguson.

Carla graduated from Rossville High School in 1979, and received her QMA certification from Ivy Tech. She found her true calling as a QMA for over 35 years at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville, where her passion for her patients shined. She enjoyed reading and doing puzzles on the computer. Carla loved to spend time with her grandsons and her dogs.

In addition to her mother, Carla is survived by her son, Jeremy Ferguson; daughter, Jamie (Scott) Tarkington; sister, Ethel (Raymond) Gullicksen; two grandsons, Triston and Trenton; and five nieces and nephews, Tara VanLaere, Levi Adams, Sam Adams Jr., Holly Ehrman, and Harold Adams.

Carla is preceded in death by her father and one sister, Cheryl Adams.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015, at Genda Funeral Home in Frankfort, from noon to the start of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Grasham will officiate.
