David Wayne Shoemaker, Sr. "Red Hawk" was born in Biloxi, Mississippi to Elijah Monroe Shoemaker and Beulah Estelle Shoemaker. He enjoyed meeting his brothers at the Waffle House and laughing and joking with the employees while drinking their coffee. He also enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and spending time with his kids. David Shoemaker passed away Friday, December 18, 2015 in Gulfport at the age of 59.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Mary Lou Shoemaker and Wanda Husley, and 3 brothers, Douglas Morgan, Elwood Shoemaker, and Charles Shoemaker.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife: Linda Clark Shoemaker, Biloxi; sons: David (Brandi) Shoemaker, Woolmarket and Jonathan (Celena) Shoemaker, Vancleave; daughter: Brandy Douglas, Woolmarket; brothers: Thomas (Darlene) Shoemaker, Jerry (Doris) Shoemaker, Richard Shoemaker, and Terry (Shirley) Shoemaker; sisters: Joann (Bobby) Penton, Cheryl Barton; 11 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Thank you to the fifth floor nurses at Merit Health Biloxi and Canon Hospice in Gulfport who took care of our dad in his time of need. Thank you also to Mrs. Michele, dad's favorite nurse, who was amazing. She made sure he was comfortable and well taken care of from the moment he got on her floor until the time he left.

Services will be 11AM at MARSHALL LIFE CENTER. Visitation will begin at 10AM. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery. Care of our father is entrusted only to the professionalism of MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME.
