Robert Utterback, 87 of Pensacola, FL went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 18, 2015.
He was born to the late Harvey and Mae Utterback on May 29, 1928 in Greenfield, IN and raised in Anderson, IN. Robert was a Gunner in the Korean War flying in 31 combat missions.
Robert had a servant's heart. He worked on an ambulance and as a firefighter. He worked at the Community Hospital in the ER then went to St. John's Hospital as an Anesthesiologist Assistant. He was a musician and both he and his wife were in a gospel band.
In 2002 Robert and Barbara moved to Pensacola to be closer to their daughter. Robert attended Olive Baptist Church where he enjoyed ushering and greeting families. He loved his family and made friends everywhere he went.
He was preceded in death by his parents; half-sister, Elaine Burkhart; and granddaughter, Jessica Cheever.
Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Meyer Utterback; daughter, Debbie (Dale) Minnick; grandson, Steven Cheever; two step grandsons, Jacob and Kenneth Minnick; great granddaughter, Katelynn Cheever; niece, Terri Lee Clark; and great niece, Ashley Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Wed., Dec. 23, 2015 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South with Dr. Ted Traylor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Gulf Breeze, FL.
The family will receive friends on Tues., Dec. 22, 2015 from 5PM to 7PM at the funeral home.
Robert was loved by all and will be missed by many.
