Corporal, Company B, 14th Georgia Infantry. Died of disease in the Danville General Hospital.

US Census, 1850 and 1860, gives his residence as Wilkinson County, Georgia, and lists him as a farmer. The following family information is also given:

Lemuel Lavender (father) born c.1825
Mary Lavender (mother) born c.1823
Richard Lavender (son) born c.1855
Andrew J. Lavender (son) born c.1857
Lewis F. Lavender (son) born c.1858
Thomas Hagan (male) born c. 1845
This last is an unknown relation, but lived with the family from age 5 or earlier through age 15 or later. There is a marriage certificate, Baldwin County, Georgia, for Henry Hagan and Mary M. Gany, Jan 12, 1844. It is likely this is her child from her first marriage.

Death certificate for Andrew Jackson Lavender estimates he was born in Georgia in 1855, gives his father as Lamb Lavender and mother Mary Gainey.

Death certificate for Annie Eliza Liles states she was born Feb 15, 1862, in Georgia, and died Nov 6, 1922, also in Georgia; her father is Lamuel Lavinder and mother Mary Gainey.

The Lavender widow and children can be followed in the 1870 and 1880 census, Wilkinson County, Georgia:

Howell King (1870 census only, age 76)
Mary King (born c. 1822)
Richard Lavender (1870 census only)
Jackson Lavender
Louis F. "Coot" Lavender
Annie L. Lavender
George Luke (unknown relation, 1880 census only)

It would appear that Mary Gainey (aka Mary Hagan, Mary Lavender, Mary King) managed to outlive three husbands! She has no Find a Grave memorial page that I am able to locate.
