Son of John Fullilove & Nancy Arrington Gwin. Husband of Emily Davis. At some point before 1846, his family line changed the spelling from Fullilove to Fullenlove, thus beginning an entirely new surname. He was an attorney, auditor and sheriff of Floyd County, IN. On December 12, 1868, Sheriff Fullenlove was beaten and shot by vigilantes who came to his jail to lynch members of the Reno Gang. He survived the attack, but the Renos were all hanged and after the bodies were cut down, they were displayed in pine coffins in the jail as the doors were opened for thousands of people to stream by and gawk at the remains.

When it was made public this morning that Col. Thomas J. Fullenlove was dead, the surprise to his many friends and acquaintances was very great. His illness had been noted in the newspapers on Friday, but it was not thought to be of so serious a character as to endanger his life. But Friday evening the symptoms of the disease from which he was suffering inflammation of the bowels and urinary suppression, became very alarming. Uremia supervened and brain troubles followed from the patients excruciating sufferings, and about 9 oclock p.m., his death occurred. He leaves a wife and five children, two of the latter married. His age was forty- seven years.
