Steven L. "Steve" Watkins, 57, a resident of Pensacola for the past 35 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 3, 2014.
Steve was a General Contractor and cabinet maker, a member of Olive Baptist Church, as well as a member of the church softball team, a referee for Roller Derby, a member of the Pensacola Sunrunners, Harley Owners Group, where he served as a Road Captain, and a founding member of Krewe De Bon Temps.
He is predeceased by his mother, Marge L. (Flarity) Watkins; uncle, Joseph Flarity and aunt, Barbara Flarity.
Survivors include his wife, Jolyn M. Watkins; his father, Lester L. Watkins; brother, William Watkins and wife Kim; niece, Jordan Watkins; nephew, William Watkins; cousin, Michael Flarity; sister-in-law, Judith Coburn; two sons, R. Matt Simpson and wife Melissa, David A. Simpson and wife Kim; daughter, Crystal Esch; adopted daughter, Katie Blevins; grandchildren, Andrew Pettigrew, Thomas Esch, Cloe Simpson, Ivy Simpson, and Alyse Simpson,as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 10:30 AM, at Family-Funeral & Cremation, 7253 Plantation Road, Pensacola, with Chaplain Michael Mashburn officiating.
