Paul Luke Vella Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on September 21, 2011 at the age of 96. Paul was a native of Mosta, Malta who served his country loyally during WWII as a Sergeant in the Royal Malta Artillery manning anti-aircraft guns. Following his brothers, he immigrated to San Francisco in 1950 and was joined shortly thereafter by his wife and children. Paul worked 27 years at Schlage Lock Company in Visitation Valley. Paul was a 60-year member of the Maltese-American Social Club and in his retirement spent many Sundays there conversing with friends while sipping his favorite V.O. and water. Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Theresa. Devoted brother of the late Sam, Jane, Charlie, Maria, Peter, and Rose. He is survived by his three devoted children, his loving niece, his five grandchildren as well as three great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the staff of Sutter VNA & Hospice for their care and support.
