Mrs. H.F. Chaney quietly passed away,
at her home in Arlington, Nebraska on
Monday, February 16, 1914. She was
Miss Anna B. Rogers, the youngest
daughter of W.P. and Mary A. Rogers.

She was born on March 17, 1872 at Point
Edward of Canada. In 1879, when she
was only six her parents moved to Kansas
where she has resided most of the time
since.

She was married to H.F. Chaney on March
17, 1894 in Vermillion, Kansas. Her
husband survives her; she also leaves three
sisters and two brothers, Mrs. A. Havens,
Vermillion, Kansas, Mrs. John Gillis, of
Jackson, Michigan, Mrs. Belle Hall of
Centralia, Kansas, J.L. Rogers and H.A.
Rogers, Superior, Nebraska.

Her parents and a brother and sister have
preceded her in death.

She joined the Christian church at Ver-
million, Kansas in 1893 when Reverend
Ballou was the minister and he also was
the minister that married Mr. and Mrs.
Chaney.

When they moved to Frankfort, Kansas
She became a member of the First Meth-
odist church. She was also a member of
the Vermillion Order of the Eastern Star,
and Frankfort Camp of Royal Neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the
Vermillion Methodist Church with
Reverend Nunally officiating.

Burial was in the Vermillion Cemetery,
Vermillion, Kansas.



Centralia Journal, Friday, Oct. 30, 1914,

Mrs. H.F. Chaney died at her home in Centralia last Friday evening after an illness of several months. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday, conducted by Rev. Nunally of Vermillion, assisted by Rev. Geyer. The remains were taken to Vermillion for burial, accompanied by quite a number of friends from here.

The husband and two small children are left to mourn the loss of wife and mother.
To add to the sorrow of the occasion a message came while preparations were being made for the funeral, bringing the news of the death of Mr. Chaney's brother, Harvey Chaney, in Nebraska. His body was brought to Vermillion for burial Monday.
