William (b. 26 May, 1871 and married Anna Cowan with whom he had a farm near Dunbar);

Anna (b. 25. Feb. 1875, married Dr. Jesse Cogan who maintained his practice on Dawson, Fayette Co.)

The history of Fayette County states that Rebecca remained a German Baptist as she had been raised after she married Jacob who maintained his Presbyterian affiliation, and she also honored her father by naming her first son David (see David Stickler biography). How they met is not recorded, but Jacob's sister Mary Strickler married a William Snyder who must have been Rebecca's cousin, and they might have met through this family connection. There were other Snyder-Stickler affiliations as well since Simon and Jacob Snyder had married Sechrist women, and Jacob Strickler's aunt Matilda Varns had married a John Sechrist.

Family was important to Rebecca, and she apparently named two of her daughters Susan and Sarah for her mother and step-mother. Indeed, although the couple had differing religious views, Jacob and Rebecca must have gotten along fairly well since they had a total of 12 children born between 1851 and 1875, and this must say something about their relationship since Jacob was 52 and Rebecca 44 when their Anna arrived.

Their original homestead outside Franklin was run by their son Joseph for 17 years after they added to their holdings by purchasing Oglivee/Oglevee farm where they resided in later life (this farm had been owned by relatives since Jacob's aunt Eliza Varns had married Farrington Olevee). Their son John never married and remained with his parents helping run the old Oglivee farm in Franklin Township, and he looked after Rebecca in her final years. And as for her son David, he had gone west, first to Iowa to visit their old McGinnis family neighbors who has settled there, and then on to California with his McGinnis bride, Lena.
