Mrs. Ruth Freathy, 83, passed away on Sept. 7, 2007, at her home in Napa after a lengthy illness. She was born on Dec. 5, 1923, in Chicago, Ill.
Ruth graduated from Fairfax High School in 1942. She moved to Los Angeles as a child and to Napa in 1963. In 1951, she married John Freathy of Napa. She enjoyed traveling and socializing with family and friends. She was a past member of Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Larry Lewis of Guerneville, Donna Hepp of Lahaina, Hawaii, and Marla Wiggin of Napa; grandchildren, Deanna Bandy, Ron Parker, Bobby Hernandez, Trevor Lyon, Jeremy Lyon, Sarah Wiggin and Brian Wiggin and six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Freathy, in 1986; her companion, Bud Greene, in 2004; a son, Barry Lewis, in 2005; and a daughter, Laurel Hernandez, in 2005.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and visitations will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Napa Humane Society.
