Jip Stanley
WHITESVILLE — Jip Stanley, 64, of Artie, Raleigh County, died this morning at
Appalachian Hospital in Beckley after a two-month illness. He was a retired miner.
Surviving; son, Herman of Colcord; daughters, Mrs. Irma Treadway and Mrs. Dixie Perry of Artie, Mrs. Bertha Bailey of Jeffersonville, Ind., and Mrs. Alma Scarbro from Tallevast, Florida; brothers, Homer of Pomeroy, Ohio, Oad of Handley, Alex of Ohley; sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Holeston of Kayford, Mrs. Pearl Fraker and Mrs. Mollie Stanley of Ohley, Mrs. Belvie Townsend of Eskdale, Mrs. Birdie Brown of Leewood, Mrs. Dorothy Howell and Mrs. Ada Howell of Miami, W. Va., Mrs. Dulcie Gibson of Coalburg; 34 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Church of God at Artie, the Revs. Johnny Burgess and Don Meadows officiating. Burial will be in the Mt Olive Cemetery at Kayford. The body
is at Valley Funeral Home.
