William was retired from Charlottesville City Schools and was a US Army Veteran having served 5 years of active duty in Japan and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruby Mays Ledford; three sons, Roy (Barbara), Michael (Carolyn) and Sam (Donna); one daughter, Donna (Albert); two sisters, Louise Trull and Gloria Wilson; a special friend and sister-in-law, Dorothy Henderson; ten grandchildren; Victoria, Raymond, Darrell, Sean, Jennifer, Ryan, Ashley, Scott, Angela and Tracie and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Pastor David Christian and Pastor Scott Jewel officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Arrangements by Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel of Lovington (434) 263-4097.
