William Deelis Ledford, 77 of Afton died Saturday, December 19, 2015 at his residence. Born July 28, 1938 in Hayesville, North Carolina a son of the late Ray A. Ledford and Margie Hendrix Ledford.
William was retired from Charlottesville City Schools and was a US Army Veteran having served 5 years of active duty in Japan and was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ruby Mays Ledford; three sons, Roy (Barbara), Michael (Carolyn) and Sam (Donna); one daughter, Donna (Albert); two sisters, Louise Trull and Gloria Wilson; a special friend and sister-in-law, Dorothy Henderson; ten grandchildren; Victoria, Raymond, Darrell, Sean, Jennifer, Ryan, Ashley, Scott, Angela and Tracie and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Pastor David Christian and Pastor Scott Jewel officiating.
