Age 82. He was born the son of Leonard and Mary Schmidtberger Goetz. A resident of Pratt for 17 years, coming from St. John, he also lived in Colby from 1955-1979. He was a retired contract pumper. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and VFW, all of Pratt. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. On Dec. 31, 1948, he married Earlene Gipson at Alva, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and six sisters.
