Lucy A. Auvil, 63, of Decatur passed away on Friday December 18, 2015 in her home.

Lucy was born on January 27, 1952 in Decatur the daughter of Paul and Mary (Higgins) Heffernan. She was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Parish. She married Edward Auvil on August 1, 1970 in Decatur.

Surviving are her husband, Edward; sons, Ryan Auvil of Decatur; Joshua Auvil of Decatur; grandsons, Zachary Auvil of Decatur; Logan Auvil and Luke Auvil both of Mt. Zion; brother, Michael Heffernan of Decatur; sisters, Judy Snyder (John); Jan McCoy; Margaret Drake (Roger); and Laurie Thompson (Ron) all of Decatur; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and three sisters: Frances Heffernan, Paula Keller, and Ellen Copeland.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 PM Tuesday December 22, 2015 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. John Burnette as Celebrant. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a 5:30 PM Prayer service.
