OBITUARIES

FIETTA LEIBY

Mrs Fietta Leiby, widow of Michael Leiby, of Seven Points, well known here where there are many relatives, died yesterday at Mary Packer Hospital, Sunbury, from the effects of a stroke of paralysis and injuries suffered earlier in the week. At the time Mrs. Leiby suffered the stroke she was approaching the head of a stairway. She collapsed and plunged to the landing below, suffering extensive injuries. Her decline after she had been conveyed to the hospital at Sunbury was rapid. Fietta, daughter of Joseph and Susannah Weisel Lewis, was born in Irish Valley, June 13, 1865, and had resided there the greater part of her life. She was married as a young woman to Michael Leiby, who preceded her in death 40 years ago. In recent years Mrs. Leiby had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Herbert Dunkelberger, of Seven Points. Mrs. Leiby was a member of the First United Brethren Church, this city.

Surviving are the following children: Elmer, of Kramer; Herbert, Philadelphia; Harry, Morris Park, N.J.; Mrs. Alton Deibler, Shamokin and Mrs. Herbert Dunkelberger, Seven Points, together with the following brothers and sisters: Elmer Lewis and Mrs. Emma Bendle, Shamokin; K.W. Lewis, Irish Valley; Charles L. Lewis, Sunbury; Mrs. O.K. Gass, Hanover; Mrs. Freeman Lewis, Parton, Ill., and Mrs. Amanda Malick, Irish Valley. There are also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held from the Wirt Funeral parlors at Cliftmont, near Sunbury, with burial to follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery here.
