Joseph G. Leaming, 86, of 3700 E. 31st St. died of pneumonia Saturday at Madrid Home For the Aging in Madrid. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodward Cemetery in Woodward.

Mr. Leaming was born in Woodward and had lived in Des Moines for 55 years. He retired in 1964 as a security guard for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. after three years there. In 1960, he retired as a truck drive for Davidson Furniture Store after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Eastgate Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Hermina; three sons, Phillip V. of Phoenix, Ariz., Gordon J. of Marshalltown and Derald R. of Des Moines; three brothers, Byrus of St. Joseph, Mo., Mac of Webster City and Cleatus of Des Moines; two sisters, Esther Wyatt of Rochester, Minn., and Rachael Sulser of Des Moines; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
