Laura Hendricks Gooding, daughter of William Riley Hendricks, wife of Abram Ogden Gooding, mother to John Earl, Harold Dayton, and Bernadine was an outstanding pie baker and member of the United Methodist Church. Laura descends from John Hendricks, a Frontier Dunkard Brethren minister. She tatted, crocheted, and hooked rugs and made her first great grandaughter Diane a rag doll which remains in the family.
