John Wayne Abbott, the son of the late Loyd Alfred and Hazel Alberta Edwards Abbott was born April 12, 1947, in Dexter, MO.
On August 24, 2012, in Piggott, AR, he was united in marriage to Shirley Sue Hill. She survives.
Mr. Abbott died December 12, 2015, in Memphis, TN, at the age of 68 years and 8 months.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Abbott, of Clarkton, MO; 2 stepdaughters, Valerie Patterson, of Oak Grove, AR and Jennifer Jenkins and husband Lucas, of Jonesboro, AR; 3 sisters, Mary Hill, of Malden, MO, Wanda Hill, of Bernie, MO, and Agnes McCoy, of Clarkton; 3 brothers, Lester Abbott, of Essex, MO, Henry Abbott, of Kalmath Falls, OR and Gary Abbott, of Clarkton; 4 stepgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jeffery Abbott and Carl Abbott.
A memorial service will be held Monday, December 21, 2015, at the Stanfield Missionary Baptist Church in Clarkton with the Reverend Jack Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, MO.
