Dayton Gooding was a tall, handsome man with blue eyes. He was a wonderfully warm father and husband who taught his children Dolores Shirley and Jack to dream big, so they did. He chose not to farm in the family tradition, thus leaving his brother, John Earl Gooding, to farm with their mother. A sketch artist and sheep shearer, Dayton and Johonnah moved to Espanola, NM along the banks of the Rio Grande River for his last few years. He is buried next to his beloved wife, Johonnah Marie Arbuthnot.
