Obituary for David Allan Kern

David Allan Kern (72) of Elmwood, WI died Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. He was born March 28, 1943 in Plum City, WI; son of Alvin and Doris (Hoyt) Kern.

He graduated from Elmwood High School. On May 19, 1962 he married Shirley Hoyt at Ono Methodist Church. Dave farmed, worked at the flour mill in Red Wing, MN, was a driver for CESA and also did some logging.

Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading. He also loved to spend time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kern of Elmwood, WI; children, Jody (Dan) Beyer, Josh (Stephanie) Kern, Allison (Charlie) Hovind, all of Elmwood; three grandchildren, Bailey Beyer, Terressa Kern, Kendra Kern; brother, Daniel (Marlene) Kern of Bay City, WI; sister, Phylis Krueger of Milaca, MN; cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
