Joyce L. (Rutherford) Warner, 86, Lewistown, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, at Ohesson Manor after an extended illness.Born Nov. 15, 1929, in Mill Creek, she was a daughter of the late Fredric Earl and Edna Margaret (Rainey) Rutherford. The love of her life, Gene M. Warner, whom she married May 29, 1946, passed away Feb. 6, 2013. They were married 66 years at the time of his death.
Surviving are her children, Ronald Blake Warner and wife, Diann (McLaughlin), of Lewistown and Albert Gene Warner and wife, Sharon (Kenepp), of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Rhonda K. Warner and companion, Craig O. Hunter, of Lewistown, James Scott Warner and wife, Carla (Wagner), of Mt. Clemens, Mich., Matthew D. Warner and wife, Trisha (Porter), of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., and Jeffrey M. Warner and wife, Stacey (Tilley), of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Tara Joyce Warner and fiance, Matthew Miller, of Lewistown, Nathan A. Ciccolini, of Lewistown, Benjamin M. Warner, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla., Trent M. Warner, of Jacksonville, Fla., Alicia J. Warner-Quintero, of Mt Clemens, Mich., and Randa P. Warner, of Mt.Clemens, Mich.;great-great-grandchild, Antonio Quintero, of Mt. Clemens, Mich.. and Mia N. Ciccolini, of Lewistown.Joyce was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frederick Rutherford Jr., Eugene E. Rutherford, and G. Blake Rutherford and five sisters, Sharon Susan Rutherford, Edna E. (William) Willumsen, Margaret Ruth (Millard) Cramer, Carol L. (Ronald) Mickel and infant sister Ina.She attended Huntingdon Area High School and was a life member of the Mill Creek Methodist Church. Joyce was a homemaker dedicating her time to her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Early in life, Joyce spent time bowling and golfing at the Lewistown Country Club, where she was a member for many years. She volunteered with the American Red Cross assisting in local blood drives. Joyce enjoyed various trips to Las Vegas, Florida and Atlantic City with her husband, friends and family. It was not uncommon to see her "cutting up the rug" at Birch Hill dances to Jim Croce's "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown." Joyce was a devoted Penn State University football fan, holding season tickets for over 33 years.She deeply loved and cherished family above all else and the many friends that surrounded her throughout her life and will be sadly missed by all of those who had come to be part of her life. She leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, strength, laughter, hope and love.All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Lind Memorial Cemetery, Lewistown.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ohesson Manor, 276 Green Ave. Ext., Lewistown, PA. 17044.
