Caroline Ann Bennett, 79 of Dubois Rd., Ithaca, NY died at her daughter's home after an extended illness on December 17, 2015.
Born December 1, 1936 in Cortland, NY she was the daughter of the late Horace and Pauline Scobey Leet.
Having been a lifelong resident of the area she had worked for 26 years at the Franziska Racker Centers retiring in 2012. She had enjoyed traveling and her adventurous day trips and spending time with family.
She is survived by her children, Shadd Daugherty of Ocala, FL, Robin Chilson of Ovid, Valerie Daugherty of Ithaca, and Paula Keefe of Syracuse. Fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren survive her as well. Her siblings, Stephen Leet, Philip Leet and Christine Poole also survive her along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lester Bennett; children, Rick Daugherty and Penny (Daugherty) Phelps as well as a sister, Kathleen Myers.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Zirbel Funeral Home, 115 Williams St, Groton The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment will be in the Groton Rural Cemetery.
