Bonita married Ralph on November 24, 1960 in Amarillo, TX, and had lived in the Nappanee area since moving from Texas in 1987. She worked in the healthcare industry at St. Joseph Memorial Hospital in Kokomo and at LuAnn Nursing Home in Nappanee. She was a member of First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church on Fir Road in Mishawaka, IN. She was an avid reader and often read her Bible. She is remembered as a very sweet and soft-spoken lady who loved to give of herself and her time. Survivors included: sons Revada “Charles” Martin of Nappanee, IN, and Richard I. Martin of Middletown, IN; daughter Paula Leigh of Middletown, IN; granddaughters Kirby D. Martin and Daphnie S. Martin both of Amarillo, TX and Sara (Matt) Fitch of Middletown, IN; 4 great grandchildren Christian Joe Lee Wilson of Amarillo, TX and Stormie Zara Fitch, Keaghun James Fitch and Emersyn Nickole Fitch all of Middletown, IN; step daughter Tina (Todd) Stutzman of Nappanee, IN; step son David Martin of Waverly, TN; 6 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; sister Nancy “Sue” (Roger) Carnley of Kenedy, TX; sister Shirley Ann Olsen of Kenedy, TX and brother Jakie “Bob” (Barbara) Helton of Amarillo, TX. Preceding were grandson Nicholas A. Parrish; a great granddaughter Ashtyn Hope Wilson; sisters Pauline Fritts, Fannie “Louise” Helton, Neuva “Yuvonne” Barnes, Barbara J. Woods and Martha Helton. Brother Kenneth Alkire officiated burial at Union Center Cemetery in Nappanee, IN. Memorial contributions made to First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.
