Dwight Smalley, age 84 of Peebles, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Peebles on September 25, 1931, the son of the late Everett and Hannah (Johnson) Smalley.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Carson, Chester, and Luther Smalley.
He attended Peebles Church of Christ in Christian Union. He was a member of the Peebles Masonic Lodge #581, Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, Peebles American Legion #594, and the Order of the Eastern Star West Union Chapter #246, and an U.S Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Ruth (Riggs) Smalley of Peebles; daughter, Elizabeth Smalley of Peebles; three brothers, Bill and Phyllis Smalley of Peebles, Larry Smalley of Peebles, and Winston Smalley of Peebles; sister, Naomi and Jody Adkins of Peebles; three grandchildren, Lindsey, Emily, and Bethany; one great granddaughter, Lily.
Visitation has been scheduled for Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 5:00 till 8:00 P.M. at Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home in Peebles, with Scottish Rite and Masonic Services at 7:00 PM Sunday. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 14, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. also at the funeral home with Dave Hopkins officiating. Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery. Military honors given by the Adams County Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Hope.
