Doris G. Carter, 88, died June 4, 1993 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born May 12, 1905 in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of John and Maggie Greenwood. She married Harold S. Carter on Aug. 25, 1933.

She lived most of her life in Salt Lake City. Was active in the music and literary circles as a pianist and soloist. She taught piano lessons for many years. Lived in Pakistan and Afghanistan with her husband and children while her husband help set up the civil engineering college at the University of Peshawar, and the University of Kabul.

She was affiliated with the Order of the Cross. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine C. Werner; son, Harold N. (Nick) Carter and wife Judy; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, parents and husband.

Graveside services will be held Monday, June 7, at 2:30 p.m. at the Mount Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 South. Funeral directors, Evans & Early Mortuary.
