Sally Ann Pierce, 93, widow of Hugh Noel (Jim) Pierce died Thursday, December 17, 2015 at the Harrodsburg Health Care Center. Born July 15, 1922 in Somerset, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Mabel Daulton Claunch. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church where she was involved in the Young at Heart Club and Baptist Women’s Club. She was also a member of Gideon’s Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, and reading.
Survivors include four sons: Hugh (Linda) Pierce, Jr. of Columbus, New Jersey, Robert W. (Debrah) Pierce of Lawrenceburg, Roger D. (Christina) Pierce of Lexington and David B. (Anita) Pierce of Harrodsburg; one daughter Linda C. (Mike) Inman of Salvisa, one brother Richard Claunch of Nancy, three sisters: Barbara Hurst of Somerset, Betty Arnold of Louisville, and Susan Wilson of Nancy. Thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by three brothers: James M. Claunch, Billy Claunch, and Henry F. Claunch and one sister Evelyn Poindexter.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015 at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home with John David Lane, Barry Harmon, and Doug Wesley officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with Grandchildren serving as pallbearers.Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday and after 7:00 a.m. Monday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home.
