"FORD, William, of Belfast, Maine, was born in Monroe, Maine, March 30, 181e. His parents were Dea. Wm. and Lydia (Reynolds) FORD. He became a Christian at age eighteen. licensed to preach Sept. 1859, and ordained in Sept. 1860. He has been pastor of First Monroe, Belfast, Swanville, and S. Brooks churches and had revivals in all but one.
He has married many couples and attended many funerals. He is now (1887) suffering from paralysis. He has often been moderator of the Penobscot Yearly Meeting. In 1835 he mar. Miss Betsey C. Clements (dec'd). His 2nd marriage was to Miss Mary Durham.
Of his six children, two sons were in the Army and one preacher of the gospel."
