GALVESTON - Ora Nell Moffett, 71, passed away Wednesday, September 9,1998, at Gulf Health Care Center, Galveston.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 1998 at Spiritual True Church, 2915 Ave. M'/2, Galveston with Rev. H. J. Temple, officiating, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Burbank, California. Visitation will be held from
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 1998, at Games
Brothers Funeral Home, with a wake to be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Moffett was born November 15, 1926, in Laurel, Mississippi, to Alphonzo Thomas and Ollie McDonald. She graduated from Central High School, Galveston with the Class of 1944 then furthering her education by earning her Associates Degree in Psychology from Mission College in San Fernando, California. She worked as a nurse until her retirement. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Spiritual True Church of Galveston.
Preceded in death by her father and husband, Abraham MofFett, Mrs. Moffett is survived by her daughters, Sandra Moffett of Glendale, California and Shari Pledger of Sun Valley, California; son, Brian Moffett of North Hollywood, California; grandsons, David Smith of Los Angeles and David Kirksey and Christopher Pledger, both of Sun Valley; mother, Ollie Miller of Galveston; sister, Ali Lee James of Hampton, Virginia; brother, Mac Thomas and wife, Thelma of Gautier, Mississippi; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brothers of The Spiritual True Church.
