PATRICIA KAY SPENCE, 69, of Barboursville, W.Va., entered into eternity on Sunday, December 13, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Phyllis Black; father and mother-in-law Walter and Caroline Spence; and nieces Cathy Moffett, Joanna Merritt, and Layra Frasher. Those she left behind include her best friend and husband of 39 years Bill Spence; her son and daughter-in-law Ernie and Jessica Spence; grandchildren Lilly and Wesley Spence; sisters Charlotte Merritt and Barbara (Jack) Adkins; brother Emzy (Sherry) Black; sister-in-law Sue Spence; and a host of nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends she loved very much. Per her request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Spence Family Cemetery, on Barker's Ridge, officiated by Pastor Ernie Spence. Patty was very active in the early 1980s to help establish the Cabell County Fair and was on the fair board for many years. Since there will be no visitation per mom's wishes, I ask that everyone who knew her to remember Patty as she was, loving, hardworking, caring and compassionate. Please keep your fondest memory of her in your heart always. Titus 2:11-13 - For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
