She was the first child of David Lawrence Kidwell and Bonnie Ray Cooter Kidwell.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, Elmer H. Davenport, Jr., and her parents.
Velma graduated from Baileyton High School in 1961. After graduation, she attended Tennessee Wesleyan College and later graduated from Walters State Community College. She was a licensed registered nurse and a longtime employee of Takoma
Adventist Hospital, in Greeneville. She was a member of the Baileyton United Methodist Church for many years before retiring to Florida.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 19, 2015, from 12-2pm at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown, with the funeral to follow, at 2pm, with Wade McAmis officiating. Interment will be in Zion Cemetery in Baileyton.
