Mark passed away on November 25, 2015. He is survived by his loving family, wife Kidie and sons Taylor and Parker.Mark was a 4th generation west Texas rancher. This love of the land set the foundation for his career in Parks Administration. Mark graduated from Texas Tech University and was a life member of Phi Delta Theta, serving as social chair. Mark was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider football fan and never missed a game.Mark served as Director of Parks and Recreation for Escambia County from 1996-2002. He was successful in the development of a capital improvement program that renovated over 100 parks and athletic fields, including a new Equestrian Center and development of a Marine Resources Division. After serving as Director of Parks and Recreation in 3 different cities and 2 counties, he retired in 2013 after dedicating 30 years to public service.Mark and Kidie returned to Pensacola Beach which he always said "feels like home". He had an amazing memory with history, dates, quotes, and loved music, especially Jimmy Buffett and western storytellers. Mark was a loving and much-loved, humble, true southern gentleman with an infectious humor.The family would like to thank Covenant Hospice for their loving care.
