Elmer Oscar Nelson, age 94, of Brady, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Brady, Texas.
He was born October 13, 1921 in Concho County, Texas to Oscar Nelson & Segrid Linea (Johnson) Nelson.
He was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran.
He married Edna Mae Johnson on March 7, 1969 in Brady. He worked with the soil conservation service on dam upkeep for several years and was the caretaker of Richards Park in Brady for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brady. He was a lifelong resident of the Brady area.
Graveside services for Elmer Oscar Nelson will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady with officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, prior to the service, from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.
Elmer is survived by his sister Laverne Helge of Brady, TX; nieces Kathy Roberson of Houston, TX, Judy Lang of San Antonio, TX, Paula Sue Hardegree of San Angelo, TX, Bobbie Jean Hollis of Odessa, TX, Beverly King of Rochelle, TX and Linda Clark of San Angelo, TX and one nephew, Harold Nelson of San Angelo. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
